Éxito en el 10º aniversario de la PE de Australia

El miércoles 23 de agosto se congregaron casi una decena de Pericos en el restaurante Prima Cucina de Russell Lea (Sídney) para celebrar un gran reto, el 10º aniversario de la Penya Espanyolista de Australia “PERICOZ”.

La ocasión era aun más especial por ser una quedada oficial entre la Penya Espanyolista Sitges, el Fórum Blanc i Blau d’Internet (FBI) y la Penya australiana.

A las 7:30 ya se habían juntado todos e inicialmente el tópico de conversación no era fútbol, ¡sino visados y la emigración a Australia!

Llegaron las Estrella Damm y las Pizzas y junto a conversaciones de todos tipos las horas fueron pasando. Se acordó (un pelín tarde) de hacer la conexión Skype con la Penya FNQ Espanyol de Cairns y durante el cuarto de hora los pericos presentes en Sídney estuvieron charlando con el presidente y vice presidenta Ignacio y Rosanna.

Al final del Skype Nick e Ignacio hablaron sobre su colaboración con LaLiga4Sports de cómo promocionar el RCD Espanyol y La Liga durante el campeonato mundial de Ciclismo de Montaña en Cairns, del 5 al 10 de setiembre.

Ya eran las 9:30 y todavía faltaba el discurso, hacer el brindis y cortar el pastel australiano que el Presidente Nick Puñal había preparado el día anterior ¡Qué mejor para marcar una ocasión tan especial que un pastel en la forma del continente australiano cubierto de los colores blanquiazules!

Un brindis con cava, el pastel, seguido por el himno del Espanyol (solo el primer verso y el estribillo) pusieron los últimos toques de una noche inolvidable en Sídney.

On Wednesday, August 23rd almost ten pericos met at the Prima Cucina restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Russell Lea to celebrate a milestone event, the 10th anniversary of the Australian RCD Espanyol Supporters Club «PERICOZ».

The occasion was even more special as it was an official catch-up with 2 other Supporters Clubs, Penya Espanyolista Sitges and the Forum Blanc i Blau d’Internet (FBI).

By 7:30pm everyone had arrived and initially the only topic discussed was not football related, but that of Australian visas and immigration!

The Estrella Damm beers and pizzas arrived amongst a multitude of conversations and the hours flew by. PERICOZ President Nick Puñal made a Skype call to the newest RCD Espanyol Supporters Club in Australia, FNQ Espanyol in Cairns, to introduce Ignacio and Rosanna to the Sydney crowd.

Towards the end of the conversation Nick and Ignacio briefly spoke on their collaboration role with LaLiga4Sports in promoting RCD Espanyol and La Liga at the upcoming Mountain Bike World Championships in Cairns (5-10 September).

It was 9:30 and the speech, toast and cutting of the Australian cake that Nick had prepared the day before was yet to take place! What better way to celebrate such a great occasion than with an Australian-shaped cake covered in blue and white?!

A toast with Cava, the cake, followed by the first verse and chorus of the Espanyol hymn were unforgettable finishing touches to a great night in Sydney.
